ABOUT
Lived Out...
In loving and serving God: We want to show others what a relationship with Jesus looks like by how we honor him with our lives, our worship, and our praise.
In loving and serving one another: All people have been created in God’s image, and therefore there is no “other," only “another” whom we are invited to love! In this love, we seek to build meaningful relationships with one another and extend those connections our community.
In loving and serving the world: We love and serve the world by choosing to partner with ministries and finding ways to reach out beyond our walls and into the lives of those whom Jesus would want us to minister to - locally in southeastern Wisconsin, the USA, and beyond to places like the Congo, Colombia, and Romania.

Essential Beliefs
The Evangelical Covenant Church seeks to form and nurture a community that is deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in the world. The purpose of affirming our beliefs is to make clear the values and principles that have guided our church since its in founding in 1949.
For Covenant people, our essential beliefs are summed up in what we call Covenant Affirmations, drawn from and based on the Holy Scriptures:
- We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
- We affirm the necessity of the new birth.
- We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the church.
- We affirm the church as a fellowship of believers.
- We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
- We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.

The Evangelical Covenant Church
Milwaukee Evangelical Covenant church is partnered with the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC). The ECC is a rapidly growing multiethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents. Founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God's grace and ever deepening spiritual life that comes through a faith with Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God's love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.
The Evangelical Covenant Church is:
- Evangelical, but not exclusive
- Biblical, but not doctrinaire
- Traditional, but not rigid
- Congregational, but not independent
We are part of the Central Conference of the ECC
The Central Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church has been at the heart of the growth and changes of the wider Covenant Church for over 130 years. Our conference plants, strengthens and connects more than one hundred churches in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, eastern Missouri, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
